Russ Froneberger and our British partner, Ian Weatherhead, will once again be connecting U.S. economic development agency clients to British and other European firms interested in setting up in the U.S. at the July 16-20 Farnborough Air Show. Successful UK Roadshow

Russ Froneberger just received this email from John Lummus, CEO of the Upstate SC Alliance:

Mining for British Foreign Direct Investment

During the week of February 26 – March 2, 2018, Global Consulting client, ElectriCities, sponsored and participated in a roadshow in England and Wales mining for British Foreign Direct Investment company prospects.

Our first stop was in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, where we conducted a roundtable discussion with carefully selected small-to-medium-size companies (SMEs) interested in setting up in the U.S. or in finding a trustworthy American partner. 

Next, we met with a consultant, in Oxford, who specializes in the British retail industry. We explained our retail initiative. He will be getting ElectriCities connected to retailers he knows or would be interested in setting up their first retail store in North Carolina. 

We visited with two SMEs in Wales, both of which are ready to visit North Carolina, in one case, to look at sites to open their first U.S. office and, in the other, expanding the Seattle office to North Carolina. 

We were honored to be a presenter at the West of England Aerospace Forum’s Annual Conference, in Bristol, attended by 250 delegates. In addition to identifying several company FDI to the U.S. prospects, we were able to network with gate-keepers from Rolls Royce, BAE Systems and Airbus, among others. 

Finally, in London, we met with a very interesting, London-based multinational advertising and marketing company, with offices in New York City and Los Angeles. They are interested in a future southeast U.S. location. 

This was our second roadshow to the U.K in the last ten months. The results exceeded our expectations and we are already planning a second trip this Fall.
